Kundalini
Kundalini is traditionally described as a dormant spiritual force resting at the base of the spine, often symbolized as a coiled serpent. In yogic and tantric traditions, its awakening represents the movement of consciousness upward through the subtle energy centers of the body. As Kundalini rises, it is associated with transformation, heightened awareness, inner purification, creativity, intuition, and a deeper sense of connection to the divine. The serpent symbolism reflects energy that is powerful, ancient, and capable of changing a person from the inside out.
Shakti
Shakti is the divine feminine principle of power, movement, creation, and life-force. She is not simply “female energy” in the ordinary sense; she represents the dynamic force that animates existence itself. Where pure consciousness is often associated with Shiva, Shakti is the power that gives consciousness expression, motion, form, and experience. She can be nurturing, creative, sensual, protective, fierce, and transformative. In this sense, Shakti is the energy behind creation, destruction, rebirth, passion, intuition, and spiritual evolution.
Kundalini
Kundalini can be understood as Shakti within the individual. When Kundalini awakens and rises, it symbolizes Shakti moving upward toward expanded consciousness and union with the divine. That is why Kundalini imagery often combines serpents, fire, chakras, feminine power, and ascension. The energy is not only about becoming “more spiritual”; it represents becoming more fully alive, more conscious, more integrated, and more aligned with your deepest nature. In esoteric terms, it is the awakening of the divine power already sleeping within you.
